Who says there’s nothing to do in Richmond at night? Join us on a 90 minute evening tour to experience the darker side of colonial Richmond. Be entertained with some not so well-known stories of Richmond's past. Hear about corrupt magistrates, dodgy businessmen, an amateur taxidermist and a grumpy miller. Find out why there was an almighty brawl in Bridge Street outside the Lennox Arms Inn in 1856. What do a hated convict, a former butcher and a four-year-old girl have in common? Do the tour to find out. While this is not exclusively a ghost tour it is best suited to guests 15 years and over because we visit a small cemetery and there are stories of floggings, violence and murder.
We begin on the Village Green and walk down Bridge Street past several Georgian buildings to Oak Lodge, then along Blair Street and up Bathurst to Henry Street. Having looked at some of the buildings along the way we head down Torrens Street where the schoolhouse, cemetery and Anglican church are. In Edward Street we walk past James Gordon’s House and Dr Coverdale’s Dispensary before turning back into Bathurst Street and going over to the jail. Having walked a short distance over the Village Green we descend the stairs to walk along the river bank and have a close up look at the Richmond Bridge at night. Our final walk is from the bridge back to our starting point on the Village Green.

Payment is due at the time of booking. Our tours go ahead regardless of the weather, so be sure to check the forecast and be prepared. If you cancel more than 7 days in advance of the booked tour date, a cancellation fee of 30% of the total booking price is charged to cover administration costs. If you cancel with 7 days' notice or less you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee. The purchase of travel insurance would provide peace of mind and cover any unforeseen circumstances that may arise for guests. In the rare event that Time Tours is unable to operate a scheduled tour for any reason, we will refund the tour price or offer an opportunity to rebook.
